Julie Kanapaux is an abstract artist, influenced by nature, whose work is about perception and space. Her unique fusion of graphic and fine art produces inspiring works that tie physical spaces together and promote creativity.
Kanapaux earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with a Minor in Photography at Ringling College of Art and Design, where she was a Trustee Scholar and recipient of the Presidential Sculpture Award. She has created several public artworks including a multi-story mural titled Momentum for the Alfred R. Goldstein Library at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL (2017), and Beachcomber’s Sequence, in Pompano Beach, FL (2018). She has been included in more than 30 individual and group exhibitions.
Julie’s professional career includes extensive work as a graphic designer, illustrator and photographer. She is a Co-Director of the artist collective SARTQ and owner of Kan Kan Studios. She currently lives in Osprey, FL with her family and serves as faculty at Ringling College of Art and Design.
