I’m Justin Mastrangelo and I am an artist, designer, potter, & printmaker.

I’m a lifelong artist with a background in graphic design and a love for ceramics. My passion for creativity has spanned a variety of mediums and has aligned within my work as a potter, artist, and art educator. I’ve enjoyed the diverse connections that I developed across New York State with art centers, museums, community centers, colleges, and the public. Having recently moved to Sarasota, I’m excited for new opportunities cultivate creativity in our community.

The visual work I create is influenced by Art Nouveau, Modernism, mass media, digital production, contemporary street art and social justice. Imagery is developed through the use of the public domain, illustration, photography, and digital process and often juxtapose language and imagery referencing philosophy and the esoteric. In opposition of my visual work, I’ve developed a technical skillset as a production potter. Exploration of surface and process has largely been secondary to the function of the work.
